Biographical Notes

  • Daniele De Santis graduated in philosophy from the University of Rome I “Sapienza”, and obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Rome II “Tor Vergata”
  • He held a teaching position in the USA (Seattle University) for five years (2012-2017)
  • Since 2013 he is one of the co-founders and main organizers of the Venice Summer School in Phenomenology (https://www.phenomenologyinvenice.com/)
  • He joined the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Charles University in 2018
  • Associate Editor of the Journal The Yearbook for Phenomenology and Phenomenological Philosophy (Routledge)

Awards and Fellowships

  • Recipient of the 2015-2016 Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture Faculty Research Grant (Seattle University): “Eternal Being, Personhood and Human Action in the Philosophy of Edith Stein” (12 months)
  • Awarded with the 2018 CARP Directors’ Memorial Prize in Honor of José Huertas-Jourda for the best paper presented at the 2018 edition of the “Husserl Circle” (Mexico City). Title of the Paper: “The Phenomenologist & the Reformer: On Husserl’s Socrates”
