Research Interests
- History of Early-Modern Philosophy; Jesuit Aristotelianism (Juan Maldonado, Francisco de Toledo, Francisco Suárez, Girolamo Dandini); history and tradition of the Aristotelian treatise On the Soul; theory of Cognition; history of academical philosophical teaching (16th-17th centuries)
Biographical Notes
- Anna Tropia graduated in philosophy from the University of Macerata, Italy in 2010. Title of the Dissertation: “The Scotists’ Reading of Suárez’s De anima (1572)”.
- 2014-2015 she held a position of Research Assistant (“Ingénieur d’études”) at the Institut de recherche et d’histoire des textes (IRHT, Paris, France) in the framework of the Project SaRC (“Santé en Région Centre”).
- She joined the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Charles University in 2018.

- 2018: Ernst-Herzog Fellowship at the Gotha Forschungszentrum (Germany)
- 2015-2018: Alexander von Humboldt Post-Doctoral Grant. Host Institution: Institut für Philosophie, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany.
- 2013: French “Qualification en Philosophie” – Admission title for applying for the French National Competitive Exams for University Teaching in France.
- 2012: Associated Member of the “Équipe 3” of the “Laboratoire d’études sur les monothéismes” (LEM, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique).
- 2011-2012: Post-doctoral Grant “Research in Paris”. Host Institution: Philosophy Department, Université de Paris IV – Sorbonne, France.
